As a Dance/Movement Therapist, I am not only able to support you as a sounding board through traditional talk therapy methods, but can also aide in the creative realm of self-expression and visualization of a brighter future for yourself. Sessions will typically include a mixture of movement and talk to integrate our work together.
Our first session will include a 'getting to know you' interview to identify personal strengths and set goals together. Each session to follow will involve movement and verbalization around these goals to allow healing and support growth.
You will be encouraged to practice slowing down, mindfulness, and authentic self-expression through movement and sharing your thoughts. Pausing to explore feelings while experiencing an emotion can illuminate underlying feelings and unwanted behaviors, cultivating an internal shift that is essential for healing and growth. One of my goals is to bring your awareness to the subconscious which could be creating unwanted behaviors.
